Running back to our Father's arms should be nothing to fear although sometimes the idea of it seems "sketchy".
"You mean someone cared enough for me to die for all my wrong?" YES!
It's as simple as that!
Salvation isn't traditions and rituals that the traditional "church" has placed on us.
"But God shows and clearly proves His [own]
love for us by the fact that while we were still
sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One)
died for us."
[Romans 5:8 - Amplified]
God doesn't expect you to be perfect to get saved and salvation isn't to perfect you either.
It's a simple confession (YES! AUDIBLE! Not just in your head...) from your heart that says that you believe in what Christ did for you, you believe He rose again, and you believe He's your Saviour and Lord.
I LOVE the way the Message Bible says it.
word to God - "Jesus is my Master" - embracing,
body and soul, God's work of doing in us what He
did in raising Jesus from the dead. That's it. You're
not "doing" anything; you're simply calling out to God,
trusting Him to do it for you. That's salvation."
[Romans 10:8-9 - The Message]
THIS ISN'T A LICENSE TO LIVE ANY KIND OF WAY! But do know that once you are saved God's grace and His mercy follow you everyday and everywhere, keeping you in relationship with Him when you simply can't get it right; not when you don't WANT to get it right.
So what have you got to lose when you have life ETERNAL to gain?
God's Word says,
"I came so they can have real and
eternal life, more and better life
than they ever dreamed of."
[John 10:10 - The Message]
If you're ready to make that commitment say this outloud:
"God, I know I'm a sinner But I know that You love me!
I'm grateful that You sent Your Son, Jesus, to die for all
of my sins and I know that He rose again, just for me. I
now accept Him into my heart. Jesus, be the Captain of
my soul. You are Lord!
I believe this with all of my heart! I know that I am saved!"
And then just talk to Him one-on-one; let Him hear your voice.
This isn't exactly WHAT you have to say nor is this all you have to say but for some it is a good starter.
YOU'RE SAVED!!!
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!!!
A life overflowing with God's goodness awaits you!
